Josh Adams vanished at some point between May 20-21, 2013.

Josh lived in Jefferson, GA at the time. He was 25 years old and had just returned home after a 6 week stay at a rehab center, A Forever Recovery, in Battle Creek, Michigan. He’d been home almost 2 weeks when things went wrong.

According to law enforcement, Josh called someone he had listed in his phone as “Tony” at 0930 on the morning of May 20th. When they reached out, he refused to repeat their conversation. Josh also called someone he had listed as “Angel” several times. When he was contacted, he refused to cooperate at first but then told them that Josh was staying in Athens with a guy known as Pork Chop.

Law enforcement traced his steps as best they could and found that he had stolen and cashed a check for $400 from his parents. Surveillance videos from that day, May 20, showed Josh at a gas station and then a bank in Commerce where he cashed the stolen check. The last text from his cell phone pinged on May 20 at or near West Broad Street in Athens, GA.

On May 21st the car was found in a pasture off Brockton Loop Rd in Jefferson, GA. This is land that his family owned. Josh drove a 2009 white Chevy Malibu. His keys, cell phone, wallet and $25 were found inside the car. His shoes, along with a hypodermic needle, were found neatly by the pond a couple hundred yards away on May 24th. There seemed to be no sign of Josh anywhere. Law enforcement used cadaver dogs and drained the pond on May 29th.

On May 25, 2018, a tip led law enforcement to a house in Hull, GA. Nothing related to Josh was found but 3 people were arrested on drug charges…Stephanie Guthrie, William Craig Lee and Salvador Chavez Rosales.

The family increased the reward in February of this year to $100,000 in hopes that someone will finally come forward with information.

I’ve read there was a tip from a caller saying that he was buried on a farm/ranch in the Lavonia area but haven’t heard anything come of it.

There’s so many questions in this case! Could he have possibly owed someone money? What do the two people he called/texted that day know? Did he ever leave Athens at all on the 20th? Why were his shoes placed neatly by the pond like they were? It would make some sense if he was there fishing and left his personal items in the car but the shoes being where they were is odd. Also, there has never been anything said about any fishing gear at all. Why was his car parked in the pasture? Did he park it or did someone else? If someone else did, then they obviously know him personally. None of this adds up and someone knows what happened to this man. I will post any updates as I get them.
